Hello all,

I'm Kate, I'm currently in the process of applying for Welbeck DSFC in September 2013 to study my A-Levels. I have my formal filter interview on Wednesday 13th February, so am here looking for a few tips. Maybe pick up some extra knowledge on the History of the RAF, current affairs, stations and deployment ect. Maybe even some fitness tips. I have a strong RAF family background helping me along also.

In the long run I aim to become an Engineering (AS) Officer, so if anyone knows the tricks of the trade and will be willing to share experience for my interview and OASC that would be greatly appreciated :).

On a less RAF-orientated side, I'm 15, play alot of Hockey and love cars - despite being too young to drive!

Glad to be here.

Northamptonshire eh? I used to live in Corby (Yeah, yeah, someone has too!) when I worked at Wittering.

Fitness: Do as much as you can. Think 3 times in one week as an easy week.

Current Affairs: Subscribe to 'The Week' magazine. It's brilliant for this sort of thing as whilst the news isn't exactly fresh, it has matured enough to attract attention and thus help you to maybe form your own opinion.

In addition to the 'The Week'. Come nearer the time to OASC (6 months) get a map of the world. Pin it up and use Post-it-Notes over it on stories (No more than 1 yr old) that interest you (6 UK, 6 International). Learn these inside out. Work on roles which will develop your Leadership.

That'll do you for now.

Thanks, If I am successful in my filter interview, OASC will commence in June/July, so I'll get working on those.

Welcome Kate!

Watch out for SWOs, low-flying lizards, cheeky linies, high-flying armourers and odiferous Goats.
