Hi there!

I'm currently studying Music & Sound Technology at Portsmouth university, however I've been considering joining the RAF for a few months now. I think I'm going to visit the careers office tomorrow to have a chat with someone and possibly get signed up. Ideally, I'd just like some advice from them to see which roles are best suited to me and put me at ease :)

if your doing music at university maybe you could join the band?

Ideally I'd prefer to do something more technical, possibly even flying if I can. I'm not much of a performer to be doing music there.

If your intention is to join, ideally you should have a good idea of what it is you want to do before you arrive at the AFCO. Its not their job to sell the career to you, they are looking for motivated people who have an idea of what it is they want. Most people have an ambition when they come in the door and are looking for a way of supporting it or a way of achieving it.

Hi Maccy welcome to the goat, try and think about what your interests are and how you could use them in a possible future RAF career, have a look at our recruitment forums there are loads of threads on there that may be of help to you and best of luck link to recruitment forums

I'm aiming for the Pilot option (sorry, should've made this clearer in my first post!)
Going to go in on Tuesday as work has got the better of me today :(

If you can't get in as pilot then maybe Avionics in the RAF or Sonar in the Navy might make the best use of what you've learned so far?

(Sorry, I have no idea what, "Music & Sound Technology", encompases). Maybe you can give us more information on what exactly that is.

Oh and Hello BTW. :PDT_Xtremez_26:
