Something on my monthly checks is bugging me....

When I run the "JPA Absence of Emergency Contacts", I get a list of about 60 personnel in my section with asterisks only in the following columns:

Will Nominate
Will Nominate
No Additional Nominee (where required).

Now, I have gone back through my A1 Ops Spt and asked as to how I can make these names not appear and to my surprise am told that they dont matter - its the others that have asterisks in other columns that I should attend to, which I've done. I have also compared the ticks for myself (dont appear) with someone who does appear, and everything seems the same.

However, if these 60 or so "dont matter", why do they appear? Is there any Great God Shiney who can point me in the correct direction so that I can take corrective action.

Thanks,

If you look you will find that a lot of them the date of birth is missing from the data of the person nominated (a number of personnel refuse to put their wife's DoB down). Also, if the person is under the age of 18 or over 70 an asterisk will appear (this is so that the JCCC can inform the CNO that the person that they may visiting is either under or over that age). If there is no date, it automatically defaults to an asterisk.

I'll give that a go as one has been amended and run the report in the morning. If it is that, then the headings in the report need amending to something that gives me a clue, rather than "Will Nominate".

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah we had the same issue and the DOB thing worked for us but now we're being told that SP should have an additional nominee and a spousal NOK (other than the SP) just in case. Now being in Germany I can understand that to a certain extent but getting picked up for it on an Assurance visit is OTT; it's difficult enough to get SP to change their own NOK details let alone 2 or 3 others too!

....a number of personnel refuse to put their wife's DoB down...
Probably because they don't award the VC for marital valour above and beyond the call of duty. :PDT_Xtremez_30: After all, who is going to be brave/dumb enough to list their partner as over 21 if they can seriously avoid it?

Thanks for the tip folks - having e-mailed all the personnel who appeared, I'm very pleased to see the list is shrinking day by day!

I'll spread it around at our monthly TG17 meeting, as our A1 Ops Section couldnt help us!
