Could one of 'the chosen' have screwed the pooch...twice?

I was on Nims when someone forgot to plug the torpedo in after hoisting it into position so when it got dropped it just sank...the SNCO if the load got a decent reaming on that occaission...

I like this quote:
' The precision of the Brimstone missile is unique as it is capable of hitting a car moving at 70mph from seven miles away"

Does hitting the ground from a few feet away count?::PDT_Xtremez_31:

It hasn't taken the local media long to ratchet up the anti-Brit rhetoric.

The usual suspects are being given generous amounts of air time to expound
their warnings of further accidents, emphasizing that it's only a matter of time before
the entire island and its (Greek Cypriot) population are subjected to an Armageddon scenario.....
Good to note Brits, expats and Turkish Cypriots are not included in this scenario - that's alright then.......

One group of super-nutters have even stated this was no accident. The British are apparently upset that
Cyprus is standing shoulder-to shoulder with their Greek brothers during their meltdown and this was
some kind of warning ????? WTF ?????

Some old, gnarled Akro villagers were interviewed, complaining of the constant noise, twice a day (????)
which is having a 'devastating' effect on their health and causing mass memory loss..............
(maybe need to ease off a notch or two on the Ziv) and their lives are not worth living. Maybe a little
bit of overkill there chaps........

A couple of street-wise young goat farmers said their milk yields ( the goats...) were down over 50% since
ops started and the animals are highly stressed.. Methinks another compo claim is brewing.

Ahh the unbridled joys of living in La-La land.

I assume none of the villagers interviewed own or work in any of the restaurants etc that the horrid Brits use in the village? Or have any relatives who are employed up on the camp?
Is that mad doctor who used to keep threatening to dynamite the aerial masts on Salt Lake still around?

You must understand, the Cypriot mentality dictates that on the appearance of a TV camera and crew, (anywhere on the island) locals become instant experts, pleading to tell their sensational story. - Even if they know nought about what they are saying. Those interviewed were having their 5 minutes of fame, running down the 'Imperialist British' with much bile and venom. Notwithstanding it's the same Imperialists that keep their bars and Tavernas running and allow them to take out loans (which they are reluctant to repay) for their shiny Merc's and BM's.........

The mad Marios Matsakis is still around as a fully fledged politician. He even did a 5 year stint as an MEP - just about says it all . Nowadays, he has put away his wirecutters and Semtex and is a fully blown (no pun) leader of the anti LGBT movement on the island. He is often seen on TV ranting about 'unnatural Homosexuals' but dismisses accusations that Cyprus is an homophobic island. Even though EU studies show we are one the most homophobic nations in all of Europe.

Cyprus - the island of Love - and nutters.................

I remember the locals and particularly the local fishermen who blamed a secret nuclear sub port, somewhere near Episkopi for decimating fish stocks.

Nothing to do with overfishing or stock management. No. Of course not. It was the fault of those same horrid Brits you talk about.

As expected, the natives are revolting..........Protest planned for Saturday, blocking access to Akro. Oooh and the leader of the tree huggers Georgey Perdikis is set to speak unto the masses.... (He knows the TV cameras will be there and Georgey never ever misses a photo-op ) .http://cyprus-mail.com/2015/07/17/protest-planned-outside-akrotiri-base-for-saturday/

Situation normal then! A little bit of aggro at the gate, followed by a meze, a night on the p!ss, a late start the next morning at the very base they were earlier protesting against.

No doubt the restaraunts have already upped the supply of sheftalia in anticipation.

If we get news that a frozen body was found in Caterton, then we know who was responsible for fitting the missiles.

Well, the Akro demonstration went ahead as planned.

It was very subdued. (too hot ? )

In fact, it reminded me of this.......................
