I know 2A is long sleeve shirt and tie but what is the HD bit? I know SD is the big hat but whats HD? is that just beret?

I'm fairly sure that HD refers to " Home Dress".

Thats what I remember it as. Similarly KD = Khaki Drill.

Same here but having just googled and read some of the AP 1358 I couldn't see any reference to it.

Well I have an interview at Henlow on wednesday and the joining instructions state 2a HD. Home Dress? never heard of that....... take it Beret will be fine then otherwise they would have stated SD right?DT_Xtremez_09:

I think Home Dress (HD) is an old throwback and is now referred to as Routine Working Dress. Went on the RAF website to check it out (sad I know but wanted to make sure I had not dreamt it) but unfortunately the RAF dress regs posted on the RAF website are out of date. Helpful.

HD is one of those terms that has been "modernised" to the current SD (Service Dress) term, which has in turn led to confusion with the SD hat.
