As you know i'm out in cyprus now and i have to say its fcucking brilliant. found out since i got here know that they are really struggling to find volunteers for slots that are coming up...
why is it then that nobody is applying for overseas anymore?

can't see why everyone wouldn't want 3 years of sun, cheap booze, cheap fags and more money!

any thoughts?

There are no slots open for TG4 JNCO in the last 2 Chf Clerks bulletins. I called PMA and they say I can only apply to advertised slots. Just over 3 yrs left so they'd prob not send me anyway - unless I waiver my last 6 months in the UK so they said....:(
My mate flies out tomorrow to Cyp - lucky ******.

Having done a tour in cyprus, I never understood people not wanting to put in for overseas, generally its an experiance that is positive and broadens your mind. Although I met loads of people who winged about not getting overseas but when asked if they had applied, often responded with do I have to!!

where is your mate going? epi or aki?
keep looking at the chief clerks bulletins as there should be some more slots advertised in the near future.
 
I think part of the problem is that there are so many conflicting ways to apply, psf where i am at the mo are the worst in the RAF, but there is a large pool of tg4's that are gagging to escape
 
Gray, I agree with you. I was at 12 SU between 99 and 01 it was F**king brilliant. As you say no TG3/4 posts at the mo. BOOO.

They rarely come up now. Predator has been around but you need to have been in rank for less than 3 years (discrimination?). Never seen Goose advertised except for armourers. The rest of us apply for the cyprus adverts in the trawls. Like the fecking golden wonka bar ticket!

Has Aki gone to restricted hours? That would be so sweet.

May I return one day to an island with no army and only my blue suited colleagues. May the hours be restricted ‘to 1 ‘0’ clock’ and may LOA beat inflation by 3000%...

AKI is now on restricted hours

I heard that AKI was the better of the two but from my experience, that isn't the case anymore...

It was totally personallity driven and the fact that you had our green cousins kicking about.
 
I was where you are 02-05 when the green invasion began, although it was one of the best 3 years of my career they spoilt it slightly but i'd still go back, they arn't too bad to work with they just need reminding every now and then that we arn't army.

totally agree with you mate, just wish someone out here had the balls to do the reminding...PT is fair enough but making it compulsory 3 times a week is getting stupid and starting to get in the way of our real work.
 
As a reply to the first few comments, there are still a about 3/4 of TG4 Cpl slots available in Germany and 7/8 Sgt slots. Just keep watching the Chf Clk B's. Thats the only way to get em now....good luck
 
Some of us where serving aboard in a nice Nato Slot in SHAPE, but due to coming of the last board, had two options turn it down or back to 90 SU. However, bugg** me if there is'nt a slot come up in Aug at shape for a IM.

There is no justice in the world, now the only prospect is North Yorkshire, sometime in my lifetime me thinks.................:PDT_Xtremez_42:
