NY Honours

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
No moaning from yours truly.
There's one name on there were the award was well earned through hard graft in difficult circumstances . Well done Dave!!

Well done to all the junior ranks for any honours, they'll have earned them through hard work, but it's time to stop knighthoods and medals for the air officers just because they reach that rank.

I know one on there who has never passed the RAF FT....right or wrong?

If they didn't have a permanent medical exemption, then its very wrong. Mind you, I knew someone who failed his RAFFT the month after successfully completing the New York marathon in less than 4 hours!

Well, I knew Julian when he was a FengO ...and he now has a K? Well done Young man.

I knew young Julian when he was SENGO on 18 Sqn and thankfully left the RAF just before he arrived at RAF Cottesmore as OC Eng Wing on the Harrier, he must have improved from his Gulf War performance to climb up the pole so far and get an honour as well, if that is the case, then well done.

I was his GW1 driver :-)

At least I got to travel in a landrover :-). A bit scary being lead vehicle in the convoy into Iraq - luckily it was scrubbed and we stayed in our nice little desert location.....

I did take one trip from camp 1 to camp 2 in a Wokka :) Navigation via the roads!
I flew with 848 NAS for 5 months on Seakings. We followed the roads pretty much as well though constantly having to stop to sort out casualties from RTAs was a pain in the arse. How the f**k do you crash on a road that’s straight?

When you drove on the roads - more often it was a 20 wide motorway with plenty of bondu bashing from the locals.

They were so straight - and so boring - that people fell asleep!!
