Any other goaters taking in an oasis/kasabian concert this summer. Sat in heaton park waiting for the first group to kick off the evening. Should be good, can even browse the goat while waiting.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Let me know how it goes. Got tickets for next Friday at the Millenium Stadium.

Saw them in LIma on 30th April. To be honest they weren't that good, seemed to have lost a bit their "Rock and Roll Spirit."

I'll just open the bedroom window, and listen for free.

If you did that then you'll no doubt have been aware of the 30 minutes silence that followed their opening two numbers when a generator failed :PDT_Xtremez_25: Pretty embarrasing for brothers Gallagher for their first hometown gig of the year, good old Liam offered everyone who still had their tickets a full refund although he later backpeddled (presumably under pressure from the promoters) and told us we'd be a bunch of cnuts if we did :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Having said that, it was a brilliant evening. The Enemy didn't appear due to illness but were replaced by Reverand and the Makers; every bit as good if not better IMHO. Kasabian were their usual superb best and, when they finally got going, Oasis were pretty damned good although I'd agree with POB when he says they seem to have lost a bit of pazzazz.

PS: Grumps, was there some local opposition to the concert being staged in Heaton Park, Liam mentioned something about a councillor who'd gotten her panties in a mess over it or so it seems. Didn't really get much chance for a look around after we arrived, but Heaton Park looks pretty nice for an afternoon stroll, well for somewhere in Manchester anyway!

It was mainly local businesses which hadn't been given any info about road closures etc. More here...............

couldnt move for all those sad Oasis fans on the train from Sheffield to Manc yesterday lunchtime..

Another of those bands that have their heads so far up their own 'arrises, pretentious tawts

Perhaps they are past their best but i will always remember August 11 1996 what a great time to be 18 and listening to a band that at the time were the best in the world.

My 3 nephews (18, 15 & 15) went to see them in Cardiff last Friday and judging by their comments & photos on Facebook, I reckon they would agree with you, but go further & say that they are still the best band in the world.

Perhaps I'm just a grumpy old fcuker...

Ive seen Oasis twice, once at the old Wembley and then at Earls Court back in the day they were very good but have to say I definately think they have lost their appeal somewhat!!! in fact I didnt even buy their latest offering and couldnt tell you what it was!!!
