If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

I am building some elearning for a military flying unit in North Yorkshire, the students are required to recognise the fuel markings applicable to the aircraft type that they are just moving on to.

The aircraft in question is a tandem seat, single engine turbo prop.

I am trying to get colour fuel symbols for the aircraft and bowser for ...

F-34 AVTUR / FSII

F-40 AVTAG / FSII

F35 AVTUR

These are the fuel types listed in order from the Aircrew Manual Leading Particulars.

Hi mate:

The 4 point black star is the NATO standard marking for fuel. As you rightly say the standard procedure is for the grade eg F.18 etc to be placed in a black outlined box immediately below the star symbol. There should also be an earthing symbol somwhere nearby.

For AVTUR there is a black box around the fuel valve, for AVGAS its a red circle.

Wracking my brains now, not quite 20 years since I did it but never got too hot on the markings outside of the classroom!!

We have been given the aircraft markings by the QFI but they don't ring true.

The symbol on the wing they have given us is shown below (the blue background is ours). I cannot see how they can make this prominent on a black wing
