If you went through Halton and never went to Peg's after a night out, were you even there?

Of course, if the pangs of hunger had already set in and you couldn't wait until you'd made it back onto camp there was always the Khyber Kebabs
van that parked up in the lay-by on the other side of the underpass.

Never forgot her wiping her armpit sweat with the dishcloth as she was cooking . She made a mint though! 2 Range Rovers with private plates, "PEG" were parked up when the van was open.

There was a spate of posts on FB every few years saying she had died, has she?

Ah Peg burgers (misty eyed mode selected) the saviour of many a young man on the way back from the boozer.
Burger, mushrooms and extra onions no Ketchup please Peg. A scruffy van on the windswept side of the parade square producing food fit for the gods, assuming the gods were on the way back from the pub that is.

Peg was feeding troops, including me, greasy burgers in the 80's she must surely have gone that great burger bar in the sky by now.

Queued at Peg’s once, the dripping of armpit sweat onto the grill put me off, Kebabs and Chinese for me from then on.
