I did a search but I didn't find alot about this...

I've been awarded a permanent downgrade, now Im waiting for a reply from ACOS manning. I'm 100% sure they won't release me, however I was told I'd have the option to terminate anyway.

I'm desperate to go!!! They won't be able to screw me over and make me stay will they? How long will it all take?

My boss has been to speak to the UMO (behind my back!, no medical details were discussed as far as I know) he says things happen pretty quickly.

Will my boss have to sign to say they will run light?

Thanks anyone :)

ETA: spoke to my Chf Clk, we're just holding on for the papers from ACOS and he's going to chase it up

This will have sod all to do with your boss, he will be TOLD to run light and he will have no influence on their decision what so ever.

For me after being given a perm med cat it was about 18 months before they kicked me out, but not before promoting and posting me :PDT_Xtremez_09:

Oh booooooo, I want to go now!! I hate this fecking place!!!

I thought so ref the boss, he managed to sound magnanimous when he said they'd run light

:S

Whether or not ACOS Manning will decide on a medical discharge for you depends entirely on what your new Permanent Medical Employment Standard is. I do know quite a few people still in the mob who are down to A4 G4 Z5 so pretty much unfit everything but still hanging in there. What have they regraded you to?

A4 G3 Z5
But they should offer for me to terminate? I can't cope with this much longer, I'm sat on the verge of tears most of the day

I am in a similar position. I was awarded permanent med downgrade but was allowed to stay in. When you go to Henlow they will give you full advice and give you a form where you can request to stay in, leave, or give no preference. Whether you do or don't return the form (as was my case) they will hold their review and advise you of their outcome, taking your request into account.

Nevertheless, you will have the option at anytime to leave the RAF as an 'indulgence' within 6 months regardless of MWT for your trade. Resettlement time is enhanced for those who haven't done the normal qualifying time served, so effectively, you could be out within 2 months. :PDT_Xtremez_14:
