That night when that great idea turns out to be not such a great idea!

Two RAF Coningsby personnel have been ordered to pay £2,000 each after pleading guilty to criminally damaging Lincoln Knight structures.

Both men were given a community order, which includes a requirement to carry out 100 hours of paid work in the next 12 months.Armstrong was also ordered to pay £4,000 in compensation, while Bateman was ordered to pay £2,000.

Biggest thing you ever got away with?

Drunken RAF personnel who destroyed a Lincoln Knight and tossed another into a river after a late-night drinking session have appeared in court.

One of the colourful sculptures was taken from its plinth and smashed against a metal bollard, before several men worked together to throw another into the River Witham.

I've done some stupid things when drunk, some things i think back and think "why did i do that". I am sure that these two would certainly not do this sober, and alcohol was the motive here.

Gib seemed to be the place for Kipper Fleet mates to get into alcohol related japes and because of all the rat runs in that place escape was often guaranteed!

I have got involved in a fight on the way into Buccaneers and then on the way out...not 1:1's but huge Wild West style brawls where the matlows were just punching anything, rolled fire extinguishers down the top floor of Devils tower at the charging RAF Police...and they were charging because we were riding a moped up and down the upper corridor.

So much time out there and so few things remembered in the morning!

It rumbles on...

An overseas student who was based at RAF Coningsby is being sought by police after he failed to attend a court hearing.

Othman Alqahtani, of Mareham Lane in Sleaford was one of three people due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday July 31 accused of causing criminal damage to a Lincoln knight statue, which was placed in the city to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the battle of Lincoln.

Where would he be attending at Coningsby? Sounds more like a middle eastern Cranwell student?

Tsk tsk, diversity course for Vim. I don't know what the hue and cry is all about, everyone's done something ridiculous in the name of alcohol. Built swimming pools in blocks, naked sunbathing, arrested for being out of bounds in the female block and further charged with assaulting an RAF policeman after hitting him with a squeeky club (it was after a costume disco, I was dressed as a caveman).

Don't know what the problem is, those Lincoln knight things are utter w**k.

Throwing one into the river Witham?
Probably increased the IQ of the local gene 'pool'
I'll get my coat...

On completing techy training at the secret west midlands training base some Saudi students go to Coningsby for liney type training on buffoons. Could perhaps be one of them. Al Qahtani is a frequent family name to crop up amongst the Saudi lads

Him: "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?"
Me: "Seemed like a good idea at the time, Chief."
