Hello,

My name is Andrew and I'm working on a Channel 4 Comedy called Pete Versus Life. We require a photo of a man in RAF uniform aged between 50 and 60 years old, taken during the 1980’s (possibly 1970’s).

I’m hoping some of you may have a photo that you would consent to us using. We will need the permission of the person in the photo or their relatives if deceased.

The photo will be seen framed, on the wall of an elderly ladies living room wall and is supposed to be off her deceased husband.

I really need the photo by thursday 7th July.

Please contact if you can help. andrewlavin@me.com

Thanks
Andrew

Here you go (it's how I spent most of the 80's in the RAF!):

Thought.
How many 50-60 year-olds would still be serving ?.
They'd have had to join very late in life, wouldn't they ?

My WO at Kinloss was in his mid 50's & I'm sure the SWO at Tossford when I was on the holding flight awaiting the start of my mech's course in 84 was much older,he was an ex- WOP/AG.

I remeber talking to a WO, who could remember the Zepplin raids on london!

WO Johnstone at RAF Alness, was given an extension to his service to finsih when he was 65.

Alan Holgate who a Skipper at Alness back in the 1980s, was a MBC on the boat that took part on a pick up from the Maas River in 1943, that was the basis for the book, The Sea Shall Not Have then.

This is rocket science! What isn't rocket science would be taking a photo of an elderly man, in 1980's uniform, (which could be picked up from your local army surplus shop) then photoshop it to black and white or stain it with coffee to age it. Would this not be easier than trying to find an original?

Off Topic I bet the HR people at NASA don't get paid nearly as much as the people who fix those engines.......:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Back on topic...You could just take a picture of someone late forties who'd had a hard paper round...we wouldn't know!
