Another n00b for the board - be nice to me, I'm sensitive ;)

I'm looking at joining as a fighter pilot (genuinely) but I'm doing a bit of research and seeing what it's all about first.

Used to be in the TA Infantry, but don't really fancy the green stuff anymore...

Hi mate,

First off, if you're going to go into flying training, you'll need a thick skin!

Secondly, stand by for some abuse from some on here! It goes with the territory.

If you want some genuine advice, try the military section of PPRUNE. That's where the aircrew hang out, counting their money and moaning about how hard they work!:PDT_Xtremez_26:

Good luck with the research! By the time that you get in the RAF will be just about UAV anyway!

Yeah I had a feeling all the banter would be thrown at the pilots, since everyone else looks after the machine, while they just get in and fly :p

I had a look at that PPRUNE site... looks a little elitist. I prefer hanging with the ground troops - I hate snobs ::P:

Ha... UAV... even the old bill are gonna be using it soon...
