Dear E-Goaters,

I was having a few beers in the local bar this evening and having already bought a round was reluctant to buy another, when out of the blue my darling other half bellowed at me, 'you're a POSB b*****d!'. Having no clue what he meant (quite clearly not served long enough!), he said, 'ask E-Goat, I'm sure some members will know what I mean', so my question is......

What is a POSB?

My missus never buys a round, thinking about it she never has any money on her either :/

I do try to get in extra rounds if I am out with singlies though, not fair to get them to buy you and your missus a drink every time when it is just them you buy back for.

Depends on the company, group of couples men buy the drinks, mixed single and married everyone should take their turn, try a Kitty if it offends you. However, if you expect every one to get your missus ****ed then of course she's there for the team later on.

Sent from my View pad apologies for the spelling

Hmm, I wonder what she does with all the money I give her for our weekly constitutional? :PDT_Xtremez_15:
My missus usually stands her round, seems only right if you ask me however it's obviously down to personal circumstances.

If I'm out for a drink with my lass then I'll always buy for both of us. But if there's some couples and some singlies it really annoys me when "the couple" buys one round, then each of the singlies buys one, then "the couple" buys one.

Few years ago one of the lads I used to work with got ****ed off with it, so he started just buying the two of them one drink to share :)

My understanding of the phrase - you POSB ( pozbe ) ******d is taken from when, back in the good old days when you used to get lots of folding beer chits each week on detachment, there was always one or two that would instantly give them to the post office gadgey and send the dosh home!!! Jeez there was even one or two who would even bypass that by sending the $'s home folded into a bluey .....

Its always beebread associated with tight arses. It stems from the days of the little blue post office savings book. I used to have £20 a month taken out of my pay at source, and sent the book away at the beginning of December to get made up and have loads of dosh for Xmas. There where a few blokes who complained of never having any money but had loads of money in their posb accounts. This was un the days of a sac supplier picking up £20 a day before tax.
