This morning, I logged on to JPA only to find a posting notice which nobody had taken the time, or had the presence of mind to brief me about. I have, it seems, been posted back to the unit from whence I came. I view this to be career suicide. Have I been posted because the desk is doing a bums on seats exercise, or has the TG9 desk completely lost sight of Op Zeus??

I only left Lossie 2 years ago, and feel that returning would be counter productive to my career.

My first choice was to get posted to Waddo and get on to 39 sqn.

Because its something different, I've been in 8 years now, and have done Tower, Ops, Area Radar and I need to diversify. I wanted to apply before, but wasn't able. I think the work would be very interesting.

Do you mean Project Zeus for SNCOs as it is Apollo for Cpls and below, different ballgame. See your unit career advisor and seek advice on why it has happened.

Not necessarily. I have worked on an OCU, and know that front line ops in completely different. There are no two Ops jobs that I have ever come across that are the same, and Reaper is something I am keen to learn about.

Unfortunately Apollo is a bums on seats exercise, you're career is of no concern to anyone but yourself. In fact with the advent of Project Zeus the drafters have even less time to deal with the careers of Juniors as they have to spend more time on the SNCOs.

Not good enough.

Hahahaha! get used to it, how long have you been in? Who's to say that there aren't other people who have been waiting longer to do that particular job? Unfortunately the Air Force puts you where you are required not where you want to go although some people get lucky and manage both. Besides surely you're just sitting looking at similar info regardless of platform? As for a career that went out the window when the compulsory redundancies started.

On the plus side you don't have to do as many shuttles on the fitness test.

Would you be as keen to get on Reaper if it was Lossie based?Has there been a trawl for volunteers on Reaper yet for your rank/trade?Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend in Lincolnshire?

The only things I have seen on the 39 Sqn move is on the current trawl for volunteers, which states that you will most probably not get a full overseas tour as they are due to move back to the UK, The only other option is to see what happens with the new Sqn standing up, and see if the ground support element is going to be the same, and the only difference for the Sqn will be the Sqn symbol on the frames, and the patch the pilots wear. But ever one else is part of a single ground support organisation that just fed out to whichever sqn op needs them at the time.
