I am expecting some incoming for asking this-however, I have been trying to have a look at the ARRSE website (I did say WEBSITE-not just arse!) for a while now (just to see what the muppets are upto!) every time I try either using the link from the Goat home page or typing it in, I always get the "Internet explorer can not display this site" or words to that effect message. I have used about three different PCs all with the same results. I can look at the Rum,Bum and Backy site without problem. Has anyone got any ideas? I would like to point out that I am not planning a defection, just would like to know what they are upto (I am based on an Army camp so might see something useful!)
Thanks in advance:PDT_Xtremez_28:

It works for me?

http://www.arrse.co.uk/

If you cannot get on then it is probably something to do with your ISP but what that could be I have no idea? Cannot see them blocking access to it.

On the offchance, do a full cache clear and see if that helps.

Internet Explorer toolbar>Tools>delete browsing history.

No luck I am afraid-it is really kin anoying as it is literally the only website that I can't get on too! at least I can get on the Goat eh!:PDT_Xtremez_14:

One last thing to try would be a reboot of your Router/Modem, I am really clutching at straws now though.

Clutch away! I have tried that already-I have even tried to go to the site from the welfare PCs at work without luck. I would say it must be me but I can get on any other site, and can usually sort out IT problems easily. Beats me-must be some higher power stopping me from looking at the green wazzocks!

No didn't work! must be one of my settings, but I can't see what or why! especially as Rum ration etc works fine-I must just be a biff!:PDT_Xtremez_42:
Thanks for trying though. .

I wonder if the problem is down to some sort of restriction on the name on your machine.

Nope, they don't ban anyone, just put them under the troll cloak. I find that site very slow to load at this time of night, possibly due to the amount of people on it, also my computer hates google ads.

I'm sorry i can't shed any light onto your problem but i don't think it's a bandwidth or amount of people issue.....I'm connecting via satellite connection and i got in.

Hope you manage to sort it out......crack on...........:PDT_Xtremez_09:

I am at Wattisham actually.

We've known that for a while old man.

(unless I have you pegged as the wrong man in which case I apologise)

Im not 100% sure if this will sort out your issue but I think a good way to begin to diagnose the issue is to try using a different peice of software in which to view the page.

Try http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/ firefox can be a pain at times I must admit but try using it and see if the website works. If it doesn't give me a shout and I will see what else I can say to help you out bud :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Alternatively - check the DNS settings on your router (and PC - do <ipconfig -all> in a command prompt window (start run - type <cmd> ) - your ISP should have a help page for the set up - if you haven't got the correct ones - (or any at all...) you will only be able to get on a few sites...

Here are a few good public ones - i use 4.2.2.1!

a) 4.2.2.1
b) 4.2.2.2
c) 4.2.2.3
d) 4.2.2.4
e) 4.2.2.5
f) 4.2.2.6

The main reason I think that is due to the fact at this time of day the site loads as quick as the goat does, the later in the day it gets the slower the page becomes (when home time hits and more people log on, I think)

It's not some sort of parental control thing is it? Maybe your PC or ISP thinks it sounds too much like 4rse and must be porn.

Just another straw to clutch at:PDT_Xtremez_30:
