Morning Goaters, just needing a wee bit of info regarding Project Apollo. I have been informed that it doesn't apply to JR's that are posted overseas. Is this info up to date and accurate? I'd rather find out before I try and get chewed out down the phone from my desk (that is if I can ever get through to them lol)

Depends what you mean by 'doesn't apply to you' however as you are on a standard 3 years overseas tour (I presume) you will be brought back to the UK on tourex rather than staying where you are until you come to the top of a list. As a JR, you don't have open door access to speak to the desk unless you are considered diaspora but there are some very nice people on the TG4 desk (alledgedly) so I don't expect them to 'chew you out'!

Sorry I should have made it more clear. I am enquiring if being overseas allows me to contact my desk directly as I have no RAF personnel on camp to do it for me and my boss is a bit clueless as to the whole set up. I have been told by admin (Army and Civvi) that I can but I wasn't sure if they where just trying to fob me off so they didn't have to do it.

When I was in an AFCO we were allowed to contact them as we were the specialists for our own trade. I'd say your situation is similar.

Like I say, if you are considered diaspora then you can contact the desk and I guess you could get away with it in your circumstances. Depends what you want to speak to them about but you should use JPA to let them know about your preferences and next assignment/career aspirations.
