OK Goaters. Now that I have the attention of some of you I can inform you that there will be an extra FS promotion slot on next years board. Time to get the gloves off and fight for it.
After 35 yrs and xxx days (days still to be determined by admin) I have pushed the button and will be taking Auntie Betties kind offer of money every month for not attending work. I won't go into the details on an open forum as to why I made this decision at this time, but it is the best for me and my family, and that comes first. For those that directly know me, I'll contact you with the scoop.
We (Mrs Digzster and I) are now looking forward to starting a new life overseas where we are in control of what happens when in our lives. It will probably come as a shock after 4 years when I automatically start packing up the house that in fact, I won't be getting a call from ACOS Manning!
Timelines will be quite tight for the big move, but we have been preparing things under the radar in anticipation for while now.
I will miss the characters (sadly fewer over the past years), the craic, the beer, worldwide travel at public expense, the forces' sick sense of humour and that's about all.
Good luck to those who remain taking the shilling. I'll keep on the Goat to see (and laugh) how things go on with you.
