Seeing as though we have quite a few more WO's than we need right now I can't see much promotion on the horizon just yet! :PDT_Xtremez_14:

We're always seen as an easy target so I can only see the downward trend continuing, to be honest if we get much smaller how viable are we going to be?
 
We had a visit by the Trade Sponsor and TG17 CM this week and, whilst things will be tough for the next few years, it shouldn't be all doom and gloom.

Thing is, the whole public sector, (Police, civil servants, armed forces, absolutely everyone) is under review. Yeah I believe the RAF will drop its numbers but by natural wastage.

We still have a few WOs to absorb, so prom from Sgt to FS and FS to WO ain't good. Prom though at SAC and Cpl shouldn't be too badly effected.
 
Yeah, sure am glad I got my promotion before the brakes were applied....pheeewwwwww!!

How much longer

The trade has been shagged since 2003 (10% FMDL implimentation).

Doesn't effect me any more but we need to be stabilised and given a pathway of some sort.

Ah, but I only had to give 6 months notice. Unfortunately, don't think it had much effect on the FS to WO board.

I've put my notice in for my 22 point. Unfortunately signed on for LOS 30. Oh well. Not long to go anyway!
 
Of course the SO3 posts that we did have and now they want back does not help matters........all those lucky (and well deserving of course) WOs promoted last year must be well chuffed they got in before the brakes were applied.....quite funny that one of the guys promoted was obviously involved in the posts being given to WO in the 1st place though....ooooooooer missus!

Funny as in "oh dear I've cracked a rib laughing" or funny as in strange there is a consipiracy theory? That aside, if I'd known promotion was down to being "lucky" then I'd have spent more time riding my bike!

Lucky as in 'resulting from good luck' = the fact that X number of posts were created. I did say well-deserved but unfortunately now other well-deserving people will have to wait a few more years possibly because 'funny' old thing these posts have been/are being lost. Not good for the trade for knock on effect I guess, and all I am saying is surely the people concerned could have been a little bit more circumspect....regarding a conspiracy at manning = NEVER!!

Current incumbent IMHO seems to have things a little more controlled.

Doesn't affect me directly being a junior FS but at least I can catch up the old sweats.....:PDT_Xtremez_14:
