Can anyone tell me where I can find definitively who should be doing what level of training please?

I have been told that everyone has to do level 1, and Sgts and above level 2. Had a look at level 2 and I fail to see any value in it for me as a TG1 Sgt. No one seems to know where the policy for who does what is laid down. The best I've found is all do level 1 and line managers do level 2, and that was on a flyer.

So if level 2 is for line managers, what's the definition of a line manager? I always took it to be a FS or above?

Yet more guff to deal with that is a total waste of time!

Anyone help please?

From what I have read, the only people that have to do level 2 are those in certain information management, data protection posts. Evryone else has to do level one. But then again those in command at your base might go above and beyond that to give you extra training to give you better understanding of Information protection. You might not see it as relevant, but someone I know who is not the same service as us, informed me that when his unit lost a laptop, it wasn't just the loss of the laptop that was looked at, it was the units whole information management and handling that was looked after, and they got raped as they were only paying lip service to it.
