Hi there,My name is SAC Robinson, I am a MOVER based at Brize.Prior to joining up I studied for a journalism degree, and have experience writing articles and promoting the RAF as a secondary duty. Corporals say to me, why didn't you go for your commission? Well, I am joining the commissioning club soon. But, I am currently out in theatre, and have produced more articles for the RAF. My bosses are impressed with the media work that I am doing. I am interested in doing perhaps a six month media posting with the RAF. While keeping my current job as an SAC Mover. How do I go about this? I am only aware of a Media Officer for the RAF Reserves. The problem I have, is because it is so specialised, it is hard to find these jobs going. I am not sure whether to stay in this trade, go for commission, or just do a six month media posting on the side.Any advice, ref, full time jobs or postings as a Media Officer within the RAF appreciated. Where to find them, who to contact etc, thanks!

You would also have to have the ability to string coherent sentences together. Hope you get a refund on the journalism degree!!

The fact that your Cpl thinks you are commissioning material matters not a jot. Go see your immediate commissioned superior and ask him or her, you will need their support. Let your SNCO know as a matter of courtesy. This medium is not the way to go.

You could try speaking to the MCO at Brize, they maybe able to shed some light on the situ...

I take it you get somebody to proof read your articles...

I think that the OP uses the computer's smell choker. (see, even I can put an apostrophe in the right place).

By the way OP, I wouldn't suggest putting real names (if that is the case) or locations on open forums. If you are going to write articles you need to keep OPSEC in mind AT ALL TIMES.

Is this for real?

On a serious note. Good luck promting the raf these days, you would have to be very "creative".

Proper military media ops is in the Intel world and it's not about selling the forces.

If you want to do genuine journalism then you need to be a civi, MCO's tend to be reservist officers who were regulars and want an easy life, quite a few left when they suddenly realised they would be deployed.

Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy it, journalism in civi street has also changed massively since the internet came along and it may not be the career you thought it was.
