I've had various answers to this from various admin types, so I ask the all-knowing people on the goat for the definitive answer.

So I am promoted on Monday, I am also being posted on the same day. I am also being detached back to my current unit on the same day too.

Basically, there was an issue with my promotion last year, so now I am promotable my OC Admin wants me promoted asap (I had to waive my 90 days notice), but to do that I have to be posted, because manning won't promote me in my current post. But I'm still needed in my current post for 3 months, so I'm being detached back.

I am intending to get a room in the mess at my new unit next week and will be gradually moving my stuff up there for when I actually begin physically working there in 3 months.

Anyway, onto the question...

What can I claim for this? I'm guessing disturbance allowance and GYH. Someone's also mentioned IE as well.

It's been suggested that as I'm not actually going anywhere (because my job is not changing until April), that I might not be allowed to have a room in the mess at my new unit, but I think that as I'm posted there I should be entitled to one there and also one here as I'm detached here to work until April. It's also been suggested that I shouldn't claim disturbance allowance until April, but my posting is on Monday, so I'm not sure why I should have to wait until April.

I'm just trying to make sure I don't miss out on anything I am entitled to.

Many thanks in advance chaps and chapesses.

Surely if you look at your JPA record it will show posted then detached - doesn't matter where to. So posted = require a room and detached = require a room.

If you are posted then you claim DA end of. If you want to wait you can also.

Should be treated the same as anyone who is a, posted and b, detached.

I agree with effinhell, the AP's/JSPs have rules in them for when you're posted. The fact you are detached back doesn't really come into it.

It'd mean a lot in incidentals for 3 months...
