Hello.

A few years back some uncivilised swine broken into my parents house and robbed the place. My dads LS&GC medal being one of the items. I want to get the thing replaced and want to ask what is printed on the rim of the medal? Is it just name rank number? Or do you lot have RAF/ trade on it as well. I'm Ex Guards and l know we put unit on our service medals.

Thanks for your help chaps and l do apologise for a extremly bone question!

Name, rank, number and service mate. Speak to the Medals Office at JPAC, they should be able to reauthorise a new medal t be issued if the old one was pinched.

pretty sure mine just has name , rank and number on it!!
And before anyone says it, i only got mine through a lack of evidence!

Gleaming cheers matey. Yer l've had a look already at the JPAC lot, but they want you to have a crime reference number. As its been a fair few years me mother has'nt got it any more. I've got no problems buying him a new one.

My lad took mine to school and on the way home he put his bag down for a kick about and had it nicked. Knew likelyhood of getting it back was nill so I didn't bother to report it. JPAC would not entertain replacement untill I did and got a crime reference number. Their reason was that medals were being sold then replacement were being sought. I also had to pay for the replacements.

I'd be tempted to ask a copper for a case number that would relate to years ago and give them that...I doubt they actually research the case for a Long service gong...It'll just be filling in a dotted line on a form...

If you contact the Service Police Crime Bureau at Southwick Park they should be able to sort you out. It is a tri-service organisation and have access to all current and historic crimes.

Gleaming cheers for your replies chaps. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
