Reception at the House of Commons and Banquet - RAF Top Brass will host MPs and celebs at banquet and receptions
Women's Hockey World Cup - Expected to partner with the RAF. There are also deals with FA Cup Final and Highland Games
Concerts - RAF bands go on tour and host celebrations
Swansea Air Show, Royal Welse Show, Portrush Air Show - Flyover and parades.

Got to be cheaper and a damn sight more enjoyable than that total bag of w@nk.
 
Sounds like unless you are top brass, the most you could hope for is not to be dicked to spend the time marching around for the entertainment of others.
 
sounds like a shed load of working weekends for everyone, what a way to let your workforce celebrate such a monumental occasion
 
I wouldn't pay much attention to the number that The Sun are banding about. There was an IBN published today from ACOS Pers with the funding and spending breakdown. Yes take that with a pinch of salt but I put more faith in those figures than anything published by the Sun!!

100 Years and that all we can show for the public. Why not have a BBC/ITV CH4 broadcasting show on a major airshow equivalent to the Edinburgh Tattoo. While our good old Queen opens the Air display for the public. Parachuting RAF Regiment a Fanfare of music free badges to the young folk. Catering offering free meals Free jollies in transporters. Or Raffle a couple of flight tickets in the latest fighter jets. Massive display of the trades. If the budget blown so what the pride of a 100 years what counts.

I'm sure RIAT and Scampton air shows will make a big fuss over it...I'm fairly sure at the station level the CO's will do something for the troops but that's not going to make headline news unless something goes wrong.

Whatever occurs it will involve some getting dicked for duties but that's standard and suits those chasing promotion.
 
There is not enough money to paint the corridor outside.This 100th would appear to be a construct entirely conceived, planned and executed at a level where such banalities mean nothing.
 
My boss tried to get in on this by "organising" (by this I mean suggesting stuff that other people could do) local events.

However by putting his head above the parapet in what should be a sleepy little hollow, he has attracted some unwanted attention by those high up so he's now trying to play everything down :PDT_Xtremez_30:
