can someone please tell me what the abbs: cos spp and cmd sec mean, refering to the command tree.

Would hazard a guess for what the abbreviations mean:
COS SPP = Chief Of Staff Support
COS SEC = Chief Of Staff Secretariat

I thought they stood for:

Chief Of Staff Service Pay and Personnel (COS SPP)
Command Secretariat (Cmd Sec)

Essentially they are the head of service and civilian HR respectively.

COS SPP = Chief of Staff Strategy, Policy, and Plans.

Cmd Sec = Command Secretary (Ie Chief Civil Servant and finance bloke/blokess)
