Afternoon folks

Is there anyone on the forum who is serving in the RAF police at the moment and wouldn't mind being asked a few questions?

Thanks :)

I'm civi police(takes cover) at the moment and looking at joining RAFP as an officer. Is it possible to visit a station to see what goes on in RAFP day to day?

It is. But why on earth you'd want to leave the proper police for the RAFP, I don't understand. What interests you in it?

Shouldn't be a problem. What's your location and i'll try and find a good contact at a Unit near to you.

Can I ask why you are looking at RAFP Officer? It isn't very exciting, 2 year moves and RAFP Officers are usually officers who have failed their first choice of trade!

Thanks Dan_Brown, will PM you my location :)
I've done civi pol for a while now and it's gradually growing wearisome dealing with Jeremy Kyle's punters every day.
I have also looked at Personnel Officer but given my background thought I would stand more of a chance at RAFP.

I wouldn't worry about your background, its leadership and motivation that OASC are looking for. If you got in as a Provost Officer the RAF would train you as they want anyway....

All I will say is try to get a visit to a station and speak to actual officers and RAFP as you will likely get a warped view from some people on these forum's unfortunately. Some of us realise that the person under the uniform is an individual and like to stereotype an entire trade on their dealings with one or two. In my 16 years I have realised every trade has its wankers but it doesn't mean they all are.

As I say to anyone who asks about our trade drop me a private message I will be happy to address any questions you might have mate.

Replied.

Chip is correct, if you're serious speak to as many RAFP officers as possible and get on as many station visits as you can. If you don't and you make it through to Filter Interviews and OASC and haven't, serious questions would be asked as to why not.
