For an accurate answer your best bet may be to submit a freedom of information request.

Yes of course I have no intention of causing harm to anyone I should have put a more sensible title.I am terribly sorry. The reason is that some guys over at ARSE say the RAF REG is useless so I was wondering if it was more dangerous or more safe because the main role is protecting RAF airfields hence why I was asking about this.I am terribly sorry.

No need to be sorry at all and the guys over at ArRSe are bound to say that the RAF Regiment is rubbish. It's what they are brainwashed to say.

The simple rule that the chimps over on ARSE forget is that the entire role of the RAF Regiment is to protect airfields. however, you can still get shot at and hit IED's while protecting the base as has happened in afghan. You wont however find them sh1tting in a bag, sleeping rough and eating rations while getting shot at like infantry. Your choice, personally I prefer a 3* hotel with a pool about 1000 miles away from the frontline but thats why I'm an aircraft techie.
