Hi,

My apologies if this has been brought up elsewhere but I'm just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this...

Is it possible to transfer from the RAF Regiment and volunteer for Bomb Disposal, maybe with 5131?

Also, I've recently read that the Army have opened up the training to All Arms. Does this include Regt?

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers in advance.

Kingo.

No, is the short answer. EOD in the RAF is only open to Eng Tech W/ W Tech. There was an article in RAF News a while back which went on about BD being opened up to other trades, but it was clarified in the next issue that it only applied to the army.

Pity about that though, as few bombheads want to volunteer for that sort of nonsense! :)

Ah right, cheers for that. It clears things up.

Had read/been told a few different things but no-one seemed to have the definative answer.

Thanks again.

Hey , 5131 was my best time when I was in !

A very close knit bunch, and very sociable, especially at The Bowl on a friday and saturday night, and in Stamford.

Used to make a killing on the extra pay for food at remote sites too :PDT_Xtremez_30:

When were you there? probably easier to say whether you remember the mally or not :PDT_Xtremez_15:
