Hi Folks,

Not been here for a long while - well, since before my tour in fact, IIRC.

Just wondered what RAuxAF Flight Operations students are being given by way of trade training at the minute. Some 18 months ago, 606 were supposed to be jacking up a course for 6 Regt AAC (V) but nothing ever happened.

Would appreciate feedback, especially from any Oggies currently under training, so I can try and get the process re-started.

Usually, the course is done as distance learning but we graduated a RAFAUX on the last 10 week TTF course. From what I can gather, he was a trial and if it worked then more could do the full course. The guy passed as top student!

The Aux FOAs do the FOAC cse (minus the sims) via distant learning. The guys at Shawbury check them every tear to make sure they are teaching to the right standard. Some crack it in a few months most take a year. 606 also send their guys on a deployed exercise with the the students at Shawbury.

The Aux officers do a 70 hr Distance learning package then go to Shawbury for a 2 week FOCC cse.

It has all gone very quiet on the TA front - nothing mentioned in well over a year

New CO, new TM, new impetus...

We are establishing a second Sqn at Middle Wallop this Spring, inshallah, again primarily for FARPing etc. However, Avn Ops Supp should also get a fresh look too.

Many thanks,

FP

Yea that is the course although the info is a little out of date info - good course see the FOCC thread below.

The deployed ex that FOTS run would be well worth a look when you start putting a syllabus together for Avn Ops Spt, 606 Sqn get alot of mileage out of it. Next two planned are Mar and Jul this year. AAC would be more than welcome to come see.
