I'm currently a TCO and I am thinking about re-mustering to nursing. I was just wondering if anyone has any info on it. All I seemed to get from PSF is that it's 3 years at uni in Birmingham and you come out as a Cpl or Sgt once qualified.
I wasnt sure how easy it would be to cross over. I know a few years ago they did a trawl for volunteers. I have some medical knowledge and currently do First Response which is linked to the NHS.

I am one of the aforementioned! What would you like to know?

Your PSF is correct, but if i were you i would approach an AFCO instead, at least before you apply! They do give better advice...trust me!

Its a 3 year trade training course in Birmingham-T'is true.
When you qualify, and register with the Nursing & Midwifery Council you 'become' an Acting Corporal for 1 year. In that year you will complete JMLC & TMT 1, provided you have'nt already done them. If you are already a JNCO you should seek AFCO advice, as you may have to revert back to non-JNCO rank for the duration of your training. Time promotion to Sergeant is no longer an option!

Any more questions? Ask away!!

Thanks for all the info. I'm only an SAC at the mo and I'm a bit worried that I might have to revert back to LAC and LAC wages whilst going through training. I suppose the best people to ask are the AFCO.
Thanks

You will not drop in wages if you start a course where your rank changes to e.g. cadet unless JPA has messed with this as well...You will receive 'mark time' pay that when added to your training rank pay will add up to your regular SAC pay.

If you can't get to an AFCO anytime soon then PM Twonston Pickle...He's a recruiter and normally comes up trumps with initial info...

And on a more personal note...crack on and do it...less talk...more action...and good luck!

Not too sure about the remustering bit myself. 3 years at Uni would make my head ache. Wouldn't mind a crack at wearing the uniform though :) Seriously, good luck if you want to go for it.:PDT_Xtremez_30:
