We awake to find that last night's headliners Kings of leon got a rough ride and threw a mighty hissy-fit on stage. Hmmm... how about a bit of charisma guys and maybe you might go down better.

Anyway, onto much better things...

The Computers - Lock-Up I picked these guys as my first band of the day due to the write up in the programme. An 4 piece from Devon, they arrive on stage in a blur of white and Rickenbacker guitars. The singer flys around like Elvis Costello on fast-forward, and they make a joyous racket of punk-thrash nonsense. I love it!!!!

Polar Bear Club - Lock-Up Average beyond words...so much so, I can't even remember what they sounded like. Then again, I'd downed half a litre of vodka and orange by now.

Spinnerette - NME Stage Just catching the very end of Delphic's set, we were a little peeved we might have missed something good whilst enduring Polar Bear Club...damn. Next on is ex-Distillers girl Brody Dalle and her new outfit. Now I absolutely loved the Distillers and also have a bit of a thing for Ms Dalle (she likes gingers too...) Any hoo, they are ..well...ok...and thats about it. No punk chops that I loved about her previous band...passable at best. If it wasn't Brody fronting, I'd probably have left the tent. No horrible, but nothing to write home about. Bugger.

Municipal Waste - Lock-Up Stuck for something to see before Snuff, we opt for an early entrance back in the Lock-Up. MW are a very loud thrash-metal band...not usually my cup of tea but i persevere. I am treated to THE best sight of the weekend. A man, dressed as Santa, on someone's shoulders, being whirled around the circle pit in a cloud of dust...then his journey into oblivion is abruptly cut short as he gets clothes-lined and bites the florr in spectacular fashion. I capture it on video phone...I'll link to it when I upload, trust me, it's hilarious beyond words.

Snuff - Veteran UK Ska-Punkers Snuff are oneof my favourite bands ever. They rarely tour and this is a bonus to see them here. All their kids are on stage watching, as are wives and girlfriends. It's a joyous 30 minutes, highlighted by the Mad Caddies horns guesting on the riotous version of the BBC Cricket theme!! They finish with their classic track "********" and a proper top run through a punked-up version of the theme from The Likely Lads. I am happy !!!

A quick sit down in the comedy tent here - saw US stand-up Doug Stanhope who told THE most offensive joke of the weekend...f*** me it was funny though.

Big clash here now...I was so tempted to check The Maccabees...however...

Maximo Park - Main Stage Another outing for the North east's finest and I love watching them. All the hits get an outing and Paul Smith is a great front man. Good choice i think as mate returns from the NME tent not really enjoying the Maccacbees.

The Prodigy - main Stage Loud, fast, mental pits, awesome tunes. I am destroyed. very very good indeed. Follow that Arctic Monkeys.

I didn't stick around for the Monkeys as I fell they have gone the same way as many bands before them (you know who you are Oasis, Stereophonics etc...) make one good record then make the same record over and over and over....

Another top day...
