Can anyone help please? One of my collegues has been given his kitting list for Bastion. He has been told he needs a high visibility waist belt. I've found all the good numbers for the vests and sleeves, but no belt.
Anyone got a NSN?

thanks

Could be mistaken but you usually get given these once in theatre, and they come from the yanks. Never seen an NSN for one.

If it is an offical scaling doc you have, then there should be a NSN next to it. If not I would question the validity of the kitting list and where it came from.

If it is a pukka gen one from Air Cmd then you may have to ring them up and ask them.

I got mine from stores when i picked up the rest of the items on the kitting list. Failing that there are loads lying around in theatre.

I have one of these bands and have checked, there is no NSN on it. IIRC as has been said before they are issued form the Yanks cos they like you to use them when out running. We just had a big box of them in the iso at the back of R&D in KAF. I'm pretty sure they are not issued here as part of your kitting list but more possibly handed over from the person your replacing out there a bit like the tourniquets that are passed onto you.

They are RAF issue, the armourers on the Harrier Force used to wear them all the time, I am sure I have one up the loft, I will check for an NSN tonight.

They were all the rage in the 90's ask an armourer, they used to wear them as it was some crap about static from dayglo vests so they only wore the belts.

Not just Armourers. All squadrons got them at Leeming in the late eighties, I vaguelly remember someone getting killed at night on a disperal somewhere in the big (Then) wide RAF. Pretty damn quick we all had them. - certainly remember being thankful that I had one in Dharan during a crash wagon charge. Them spam fire engines are huge.

Additionally, this was before the world of H and S Hi-Vis everywhere. NATO IRR green being the preferred colour
