Is there any milage (sic) in regional football like the old system of a Div 3 North and South rather than a national league 1 and 2 we have currently. The idea will be brought up by the Accy Stan rep at the English football league AGM.

And for a bonus point before you click the link have a guess where the AGM scheduled for July is taking place.

I think there is some mileage in regionalised footie at that level. The more local you can keep things the bigger the gates and smaller clubs rely more on gate money than the bigger boys in the top 2 divisions.

I hate Plymouth on a Tuesday night:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Disregarding all cup matches to follow the Stanley to all league and play off away matches last season would have racked up more than 6,000 miles. It's worse next season Bury, Stockport and Lincoln are now replaced by Swindon, Crawley and yes Gem Plymouth so even more miles for the faithful. But if it was regional PNE on a Tuesday night is a far bigger draw than Plymouth can ever be. Sorry Argyle fans but your geographical location helps illustrate the point.

The AGM is WHERE?!!!:raf:

Jeez, I wonder if we would have had better attendance at the Allotment Society AGM if it was held in the same place!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

They are probably holding it in Cyprus so that the little (poorer) teams don't go and cause problems.
