It was mentioned to me today that additional relocation leave has been authorized for personnel being posted (so they sort their lives out with having to use their ILA). Out of interest ,do any of the shineys know if this is applicable to only postings or to other moves (such as terminal relocation etc).
Anybody know the full breakdown, regs, etc?

If you are entitled can you put it in retrospectively?
I just moved and took a week of my own leave to sort our lives out.

Valid from 28th July, it is up to the receiving unit to authorise between 1 and 10 days relocation leave for UK to UK moves. This is a Tri-service arrangement and it has been agreed that for the RAF 5 days should be standard.

Good Luck trying to get any more than that! And although 5 days is 'standard' i wouldn't go expecting it as a god given right....

I just got 10 days relocation leave on posting to Cyprus. Wasn't expecting anything, so it's a bonus!

1 day norm

1 day norm

Just read it - When were we entitled to 1 day RL as the norm? I remember getting the first day off sort of gash to arrive and sort any problems out, phone around etc.
I will be seeing my HR people and asking for my 8 days back?
maybe should be SD I suppose. Keep it quiet though as this will appear on the "look how much benefits/ leave you receive" calculator.

both times I was posted back from RAFG I got 2 weeks off, on top of my ILA

I'm being posted on the 28th July and have been told that we're still waiting for an official policy letter so can't have anything other than my 1 day re-location leave. The admin guys don't expect it to ever actually happen! Let down again....

Don't use it all at once, I just got given 10 days for relocation to Cyprus too. Then I found out that the 10 days is for both there and back again.

It's taken me more than 10 days just to fill out all the tw@ing forms needed for the move!

don't think so?

Someones pulling your leg!
A guys just come back and you had to use your relocation before you can use your ALA, so no saving it.

Is this not just formalising the gash days to sort your life out idea?

It's Official

It's Official

There's been an IBN today saying 10 days wef 28 Jul 08.

No back dating though.

If you are taking Relocation Leave on posting overseas take it before you leave. If you take it overseas you don't get LOA. It can be expensive. Take RL this end and ask for ILA when you get there.

Off TopicGot a lad at our place whos being posted into my slot when I go. Even though he'll just be sat on a different side of the desk he's getting a days relocation leave. Gots to love thatOff Topic

Here's a public link to the new allowances. No back dating, 1 day if it's a local posting that doesnt involve moving accommodation, 5 days if its a UK posting to another unit that involves moving, and 10 if theatre to theatre.

On the subject of leave, one of my lads has just signed on for 22 and has been told they don't do re-engagement leave anymore, although the army and navy still get it. Whats all that about?

Relocation Leave

Anyone having to move into new accommodation on posting are now entitled to 5 days relocation leave (singlies and scale e's)

Threads merged. MC
