Saw this on a recent volunteers list and I am interested. I spoke to a few guys who were going through training at Shrivenham a few years a go, however I understand training has now moved to Birmingham City Uni. Just wondered if anyone has any further information on the training, career progression in the trade and anything else which could potentially help me if i'm selected for spec interview.

Thanks in advance :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Have not seen the advert but Speak to the medical liason team at at IofR Cranwell.Find it form the cranwell web site.:PDT_Xtremez_30: If youre up for it dont let the grass grow.

I've submitted the paperwork to High Wycombe a few weekes ago and the Uni are checking my quals as I speak.

The main questions I have are more in relation to things after the course.

Possible postings, Out of area turnround, average working week hours wise. What kind of shift system is operated etc.

Was also curious to speak to anyone who has recently attended the course to get some feedback about it.

Thanks for the contact details Sniffer, I'll give him a call through the week and bend his ear on a few things.

There are links to UCAS points chart here.

As for the 220 points call up the number on the signal and ask. I'm sure exceptions are made for mature candidates, Not sure if the RAF look to utilise those measures tho. My qualifications have been sent by High Wycombe to the Uni to be chacked out for suitability as everything I have done post science A'Levels has been in Engineering. Hopefully I'll hear back soon. Be quick tho the deadline for applications this year, is the first week of June I'm sure.

As a radiographer you will do OOA and it will be busy, the guys here are doing 15-16 hr days. Its on call and there are only 2 so any more than one casualty and you are both working.

OOA include the stan and bas and you may cover for the army and the navy, post in cyprus and gib I think plus UK slots at haslar and there a few at the MDHU's. PM me if you have any specific questions and I will ask my mate the RAF radiog here to answer the questions.

Hey, the guy your looking for is Sqn Ldr ********** who can be found at Hasler Hospital. i'm also a final year radiography degree student, just in the process of putting an application into join the RAuxF.

Did time with Army as an officer but got bored of listening to people talkin rubbish. so decided i could join the RAF R as a medic as i do love my job prob cause it aint hard!

If you need any more help/advise about the Radiography degree just ask as you will follow the same course as i have almost finished. I'm sure you'll love BCU its a great classy uni! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Please remember persec. Do not give out peoples names in public.

ACOS Manning wouldn't release me from trade to start this spetember. I have been invited to apply for next year but with thing being the way they are in the Tornado world I'm not confident of being released from trade next year either.
