I have a 52 Reg Clio with central locking. A few weeks ago, the boot decideded that it was going to stay locked. All other doors on the central locking system are unaffected. The boot button simply won't depress. There was no gradual build up of stiffness so I have not bothered WD40'ing it

I have tried changing fuses for the central locking, I have tried getting at it from inside but doesnt seem to have a release switch that I can see.

Anybody had this problem, or am I best taking it to a dealer to have a look?

Cheers

It's French Sell it:PDT_Xtremez_25: Failing that get that freak who used to play at Arsenal to give it a swift thud with a Hammer, seemed to be the best advise in the previous car trouble thread.:PDT_Xtremez_42:

There's a lot of truth to that comment you know? :PDT_Xtremez_30: Look at it like this, the French seem to do everything backwards on their cars. Want no.1 cylinder? Well it's not at the front of the engine like most cars, it's at the back! Firing order is probably backwards too and god knows what else is backwards. Maybe the key lock hole is on the inside of the boot? :PDT_Xtremez_35:

Had the sane problem with the Golf....However, my prob was lack of lubrication, but with the same result.

It was the case of getting into the boot through the passenger compartment and pulling off the trim from the inside and manually opening the lock. Once this is done replace ALL of the lock mechanism.

Hope This Helps?

Good Luck
