Hey, currently a trainee at cosford and have my posting coming up soon, now i know pretty much 80% of the trainee's leaving cosford are going straight to TCW, HOWEVER, all that we really know is that we will be on a 10week rotation doing - training - out of area - light duties then back to training again.

So to those that are currently there, or have been there recently is there any gen that you can let on that will be of use to us?

Also what exacly do 5sqn do? I heard that you do abit of helpdesk (well, for a few months) when you get there but then you start doing alot of networking etc, ive really no idea so any advice would be great!

(btw i have read the TCW threads on here)

not a wing

Hey its not a piddly wing anymore its grown up into a UNIT!

Have a look on Intranet for 90 SU, has the most upto date info.

the stackers (and the coppers) can keep their little wings!:PDT_Xtremez_42:
Good luck in your training, remember if you don't get it its crap and you would PVR if they sent you, if you go then it is a great job and you will love every minute of it.

I was on 5 sqn until recently, they mainly supported the deployed IT systems that TCW use abroad. there is scope for several roles within the Sqn all requiring IT training for the specific equipment. I enjoyed it, my job there was 2ic of the deployed equipment section on the road and very busy. the other sections in the sqn looked after all sorts from the web to accounts hardware sorftware as well as help desk.
Its worth a pop
