Reserves to Regulars

I'm looking in to joining the reserves and was wondering that if I was to decide to join the regs would it be a case of transferring straight in or would I need to apply from scratch?

It is generally a 'from scratch' recruitment process from Auggie to Regular. Auxiliary service could however, give you the edge over other potential recruits.

While joining the RAuxAF will give you a good insight of your Trade, it is not a back door to regular service. However, a few people do wish to join the regulars after some time in the Reserves.

There is a proceedure for RAuxAF to apply for regular service, but as PSF Angel has said, unless there are exceptional circumstances, you will have to go through phase 1 and 2 training like all other recruits. Being a period of productive membership of the Reserves should give you an advantage at the application phase.
