Now I dont know if Ive got a dodgy batch of blank CD's or if its may laptop. Opened a new CD and popped it in to download some photos, an error message is telling me it's not a writeable CD?

The CD deffinatley has CD-RW stamped on it...

Any suggestions...

If it's definately a RW, open up the my computer then the cd drive, there should be a little something to click in the right hand bar saying "Erase this CD-RW"

If you got something a bit better like Nero, then that usually has an "Erase" tool. That should make sure it's blank.
