Hi all,

In moving into SFA in the near future and am wondering what other goaters do with regard to insurance.

Do you have a 'normal' home insurance policy?

Do you buy 'license to occupy' insurance from a specialised provider?

Any info greatly appreciated.

We have normal house insurance and separate 'license to occupy' to cover the £25,000 liability (both through same company).

never bothered with home insurance for MQ, but always had contents insurance for furniture etc

Tempted to do this but the license to occupy states you need £20k of cover... The only companies that seems to offer this are of the Towergate type and they all seem to be a rip off compared to the house insurance I have now as an actual homeowner. In fact, the quotes are coming out greater than the landlord insurance I have for a house we rent out..!

Probably cheaper to just take out a standard buildings and contents policy from the main stream.

We went with regular old contents cover with sainsburys primarily for the nectar points. Still looking for liability cover becasue when we moved in CarillionAmey told us we only needed contents cover. To be fair anything that causes it to burn down is quite likely to be their fault, not mine, so i'm in no hurry.
