Anyone for Leeming or is this going to be AL84 to the ongoing saga of where the trade is going to be in the future? :PDT_Xtremez_08:

Trying to push the house prices up again?:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Near to Waddo

Near to Waddo

So the grand plan of us all being centralised in one area has gone out the window. Lol. :PDT_Xtremez_31:

We must be due for another Trade Review, then we'll have some fun.

Not half as much fun as TG9!

PS - anybody mentioned ESARR5 yet?

:PDT_Xtremez_15:

It may just be my cynical nature, but does anyone else see Scampton becoming the next Buchan (that is out of the way and forgotten about).:PDT_Xtremez_35:

Another Buchan...?

Another Buchan...?

Nah, from a branch and trade point of view we're often forgotten about (down FI 3 years ago some guy thought I was Army!) but purely as a location there's no comparison to Buchan - you have Lincoln on your doorstep which is a lovely city.

What worries me is that where I am at the moment ,DHE have said that they won't invest anymore money because the station's going to close; so with the Sword of Damocles hanging over Scampton there's no hope of getting any cash being spent there either.

From a stability point of view for the Trade it's totally c**p, we've lost nearly all the Overseas posts below SNCO level and the supposed core 'mainstream' of the job is in limbo. 3 years to my 22 and I can't wait... :PDT_Xtremez_09:

I had heard that when Scampton officially stands up (1 Apr), money will become available for you lot. I have a friend who lives on the Hemswell patch and from what I've seen, money does need to be spent!

You need not write of Scampton just yet. The CRC will stay open for years yet as it's NATO funded and as for the Reds, they won't move and I know that they don't want to move.

The A6 hub is a loss for Scampton however, I don't think it will result in the camps closure anytime soon. With that in mind, the MoD will have to release funds for improvements in the FQs, NAAFI etc. If they don't then write to your MP, I know I would!

You should come to the 'Home of the Harrier', it's just as much of a dump and is best viewed over your shoulder at 420 kts. :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Loafing.

Loafing, I can sympathise with your friend as I live in the same patch. The problem is not just the below par quality of the housing stock, but the distinct lack of amenities (The bar was shut down at the end of Jan '05 and still no indication of when it will re-open.), as we only have a cr@ppy little spar shop and and a post office.

However the real point that gets my p!ss boiling (Yes, you can accuse me of snobbery but do hear me out first.) is the usual problem of when a large proportion of the patch gets sold off to civvies the area swiftly takes a nose dive and fills up with usual collection of burberry wearing chav scrotes & scrotettes and their naff collection of cars that look like they went through Halford's shop window whilst covered in glue. Add to that the other general collection of lowlife, vandalism, childrens playparks covered in broken bottles & used johnnies its no wonder that people hate it here.

The CRC's not NATO funded mate, however I agree that it will stay at Scamton until ACCS comes online probably.

Tourettes: Yes, I've heard from a friend that the MQs are vandalised - in fact DHE tried handing one over to him when he was posted in!

Oldhamboy,

The CRC at Scamton is partially funded by NATO, all CRCs are as they are declared to SACEUR as assests for policing the relevant APAs. Hence 'Op Assess' etc, all NATO driven matey...

Tourettes,

No bar?? That, my friend is a disgrace. Your post suggested that there are no areas where families can get together and socialise, a factor that must surely have a heavy impact on morale.

As for the Chavs etc, perhaps requesting an electrical fence from DHE is in order?!! If all power of persuasion fail, a pair of Paveways passing through you Local DHE office may press the point home or at the very least provide you with some new, more cooperative, DHE staff. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
