Hi there guys and girls,

I'm currently at RAF Halton, and I'm doing a project on the work we do to support the special forces. I've got plenty of gen on the aircraft we use and stuff, but i'm finding info on current operations a bit thin on the ground. Before anyone kicks off about COMSEC, I'm just looking for the kind of things they do rather than actual operations.

Cheers in advance, please don't think I'm asking you to do my homework, It would just be useful to get pointed in the right direction.

Steve

What used to happen, okay - some 20 years ago:

We used to make a lot of things work nicely, so that it was possible for the 'nasty' people to travel in some sort of comfort, so that they could get to where they wanted...and then we'd either Throw / Push / Drop them out into the sky near place they wanted. Sometimes we'd push the boat out for them, literally.

Later on, we'd go and pick them up, give them a lift home and sometimes even a nice hot cup o' tea to go with their shiney new medals!

Job Done.

Steve I suggest the no-one is going to post anything on here that you cant find on google. I'd go down that route if I were you... save yourself some time.

Do you mean the SFSG at the secret base in Wales?

Um... The support (the royal..) WE provide - as I understand would be the RAF...

[edit] Aviation

Main article: Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing
The Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing provides fixed-wing and rotary-wing support to UKSF. Four units of the Army Air Corps (AAC) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) are thought to have the task of supporting British Special Operations[1]:
Six Hercules C.3 (C-130H-30), upgraded in C.3A standard (with more countermeasures and navigation systems), were added to the "SF Flight" because of SF needs after 11 September 2001 attacks

You definitely need to do some homework. WTF would anything that you've asked about have to do with COMSEC?

Do they teach anything at Halton these days?

Very true.

There is a lot of info you can find on the internet (quite alarming too on the amount that is published if you ask me!!)

But hopefully that should help.

Steve, when you have finished your research, can you let me know what colour the boathouse at Hereford is? By PM of course.:PDT_Xtremez_42:
