Yes, very silly to try and beat the law, but.....
Had he been of Irish extraction, of no fixed abode, caught with stolen property from a series of burglaries in the county all carried out within 12 hours of him being stopped, in his untaxed, uninsured BMW 5 Series with his ill-gotten gains, what would the court have sentenced him to (in his absence natch, on account of how the court would have refused to acccept that being of no fixed abode made him a flight risk and turned down the request from the CPS for a remand order)?
This "crime" harmed no one, but being a normally honest person the vehicle was registered to his address. He turned up to court, admittedly with a rather silly attempt to avoid conviction, but he probably figured if some pikey sheet can get away with real crimes why the fcuk should I get done for driving a bit quickly?
It is about time Britain got its sheets in one sock and made British Justice, once the envy of the world, worthy of the title JUSTICE. Little chav sheet breeched an ASBO yet again? - Go to jail, be made to work in a laundry serving the NHS. Pikey sheet caught with proceeds of burglary? - Go to jail, you like the open road so much traveller boy? - Go pick up litter from the roadsides and central reservations. NO! Neither of you get time to watch colour TV, play pool, smoke tabs, surf the net! When you aren't out working you get beasted by the screws! You get 6 hours in 24 to sleep and you get fed a strict 1000 calorie diet.
Why don't we get tough on real crime and give those guilty of misdemeanours a slap on the wrist instead of the other way around.
Don
mmmm, note to self, establish political party and storm to power in May!
