Hi,

Just wondering if there are lots of opportunities to get involved in some 'extreme' sports in the RAF, along with funding..? I have done some skydiving, aswell as Watersports, and I am really interested in taking up mountaineering. I'm not asking if its possible to do all of these at once, but would you be able to get time off, and maybe funding towards lets say going on mountaineering expeditions or getting my license in skydiving (whilst im in the RAF, and completed training)?

Im really just wanting to know in general what the opportunities available to me are for participating in adventurous sports.

Cheers in advance.

There is pretty much a club for every sport you can think of in the RAF...I did my sport parachuting course at Western on the Green and you can carry on with that ad finitem once you've begun...A colleague of mine does street luge and is at the moment organising a publicly funded exped somewhere or other for it...

The skies the limit quite literally...If you want to do something that you enjoy you go to the gym and ask your friendly muscle technician for help and advice...If there is no club for it then ask for funding to get qualified in that area and run the club yourself...
