Firstly Hi All,

Secondly does anyone have any ideas on SSFA rules/regs (I've read 464 and 752).

We are due to move back to UK from sunny overseas posting early March. We've been informed that there is no D type accommodation(really??? who is surprised!!). They are going to issue a NAC but won't tell us what the ceiling allowance is for a Cpl. We can't find out if they will pay for a flight home so we can see the houses they choose for us. We can't ask for a certain area (why not if it is within the allowance?). Or even who in HCR is going to look for our house.

We are supposed to give 6 wks notice to removals......and we haven't even got an address yet. To top it all off we have a newborn so things are already stressful!!!!!!!

Can anyone answer any of these q's, has anyone been in the same situation?

I really want just to be able to get settled without anymore hassle.....guess i'm kidding myself huh?!:PDT_Xtremez_34:

Found this just by trying to refresh my memory what a D type quarter was. It's pitched at the army but DE are a common beast across all services.

There was no entitlement for me to travel to view this quarter, so I wouldn't see how you would get a flight for the same purposes. In fact, while I was at Marham I took snaps of am empty quarter that was offered to someone coming back from Germany. That would suggest you don't get a flight.

Ceiling allowance should be for a 4 bed house, not for a Cpl...

You wont be entitled to a flight.
Depends where you coming from but lad at work has come back recently from Aki and they ask you for your address when your stuff arrives in the UK. despite him filling in all the details before leaving the sun.

If you want to avoid anymore hassle you know where the PVR button is!:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Cheers all,

rugy then work, will defo PM you tomorrow.

Ta monobrow, have read that doc too :( nothing seems to tell me how much!! Now you would think that it is the type not rank but in London area thats how it runs........or so DHE kindly told me. Apparently there is a 4 bed SGTs house empty but they would rather pay £1500 + per month than put a Cpl in a mixed patch!!

Bit gutted about the flight but I guess no surprise, I'm gonna pay for trooper flight over. I think...... I can't trust anyone else to pick my house!!!

Its driving me crazy, really crazy!!

Maybe it'll all fall into place in the morning!! :S
