Hi,

Have posted this on the coppers trade group forum but thought it may be better here!

Just looking for a bit of advice regarding military personnel accommodated in SSSA.

Are there any regulations regarding building security when a certain amount of military people are accommodated in the same place (obviously not living on base)?

I have friends who have all been moved into the same block of flats, they are the only people in this building (no civvies, just military) and are concerned that the building is soon going to be known as 'the place where the military live'! There's 10 of them there at the moment. It has no fencing or alarm system.

Many thanks.

I'd suggest that between you man a sanger on the roof with something with deterent value such as a 50 cal.

Or you could just try being discrete, no uniform on show or flying the ensign, if you've got real concerns speak to your local police flt who should be able to keep you in the loop about the area in which you live.

Which is what everyone else does - discretion not the 50cal, though that does have its attraction.

To be honest it's no different to anyone else living in there own house or a few guys sharing a house somewhere.

I lived out in a farmhouse near Cottesmore with 5 other lineys..................as for putting a fence up...............well it was considered but in the end the locals just learned to put up with us :PDT_Xtremez_15:

As has been said discretion is your friend when living anywhere off base. I would say pop into your Police Flight though and inform the CI/PRISM/PS (Depends what they feel like on any given week what our specialisation is called :)) guy there.

P.s Thats as far as we will go with discussing any sort of security on here.
