I am lookin to stay in my AMQ for about a month after I leave, until my pension /gratuity goes into the bank, anybody done this? and are DHE ok with it? the reason being that if I get my money before I emigrate/activate my visa then the Canadian tax man can't touch it, thanks

There should be a minimum period before they can file any action to give you an eviction notice - then if you need to - you ignore it, and they should then take you to the local magistrates court for an eviction hearing, which then leads to appeals, hearings and fines, more appeals, etc, etc.
I recon it could take up to a couple of years with no Job/home to go to.

A short stay should be okay - for you, not for them!

Won't be a problem, I did it for 4 months after I left waiting on house purchase. Just be up front with them and tell them you are actively looking to buy a house but have been unsuccessful and are still trying. DE will send you paperwork 90 days prior to your exit date giving you notice, just fill it in telling them of your intentions to remain. They cannot chuck you out on the street without an eviction notice through the court, which can take an awfully long time. At LEU I know of people who have stayed in their FQ for over 2 years after exit, so don't worry about it.

Good luck in Canada.

Speak to DHE, they were very helpful when i left. Basically, as has been said, they have to go through the process of evicting you (and will start charging you rent at local rates) but it takes an awful long time for them to go through the whole process.
If you've already spoken to them and explained the situation and can actually give them a date they will be much more understanding.

Good luck in Canada and don't forget your coat!!and a big snow shovel!
