TCW 6 month dets

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
10 weeks extended to 6 months in a 3 year period. That's progress. At least you will get 18 months worth of Jeremy Kyle in a stretch.

Hmm, that makes the same Sqn that did Christmas away last year the one doing it again next year.
2 squadrons will take it in turns to be away over Xmas, NY and the other 2 the summer holidays every other year. Unless they drop back to 3 squadrons.

Going back to 3 Sqn's apparently.....just what I have heard this morning so not officially confirmed.

Sqn re-org not being decided for another 18 months due to HERRICK drawdown and NHD commercialisation. Summer Sqn and Christmas Sqn being offset by Sqn's having more personnel than required for EO. @R Sqn VHR tasks being picked up by EO Sqn also. How R&R is being handled is down to Sqn Cdrs.

If both are true, that's 3 Sqns with 2 different 6 month OP periods each. "Away" for a year, back for 6 months? Mental. I say "away", because after the Afghan drawdown, what is there for the Mighty Ninety to do?

No one gets attached to the Mighty 90, you only get the honour of serving with them :PDT_Xtremez_18:

AAAAaaaaanyway back on topic.....I doubt it. Most NFU slots haven't moved to 6 months yet for TG4 but I hear there are plans in the pipeline to change it to 6 months after HERRICK draw down. Anyone else heard any info on it?

Not TG4 specific, but, there was a piece in the last AMP's bulletin that said that the RAF standard tour length for operational deployments would be changing to 6 months.

I have mention ths on other threads, Supply have looked at this for our trade. It would require an extra 7 slots in MPA alone. Afghan might be different as we are drawing down!!!.

From what i've heard the IA slots being created will have nothing to do with the TCW roulemont. They will just be filled by the normal DWR rotation time frames.

I don't think it's the Sqn's taking IA's with them, I think it's just most of the slots are going DWR. KAF is going down to a 3-4 man TCW presence.

It's only some of the IS slots going DWR for IA's, and when the next Sqn takes over they have IA's for the full 6 months, but the next Sqn are manning KAF completely, with no IA's
