Hey guys

right ok done 4+ enjoyable years on the wing, been putting raf waddington on jpa and on my 6000's since i got there. i want to experiance the "blue air force" before coming back to TCW

rang the drafter, asked about me getting posted to waddo or that area.. "if your top of the list, you will get it".

ok i can deal with that, what i cant get my head around is.

Somebody who never put down waddo in any kind of posting pref and wanted to stay on TCW, gets posted to waddo??? and i get nothing at all...

how the hell does that work out??

really fustrated at this moment

Its the way the Drafters work, I get my >>> in May and want to stay here in Nato, but all I got is a big fat NO!!!!!!!!!!

So back to the wing for me, yet what makes me laugh, is that there are people who have never been near TCW in their career. I wonder If I will have to do another 6 year stint??????

Do it the easy easy way stu_k
Go tho IRT with the reg suck at shooting , get shouted at , claim bullying
and bobs your uncle your posted.
Thats what happened to one of our lads a year or so ago on 4.

to be honest i think they play darts, they have one board with a selction of people, one with a selection of camps and another one with the available posts on it. its the only thing that makes sense. when at cosford on my mechs course, one guy wanted brize one wanted odiham, they got sent to each others chioce. and we were told that with in reason we could swap. the fs at pwts at the time was asked and he said no cos it would cause him to much work. very impressionable an some lac's.

yeah herd about that

I'm sitting somewhere really sandy as I type this. I joined the wing in 2004 and although I hated at first over time it has got better. I agree that LAC's should have to experience the blue side of things first before they get a tour of TCW, a blue tour did me no harm whatsoever and looking back am greatful the drafter ignored my request for TCW when I was leaving Cosford.

In a nutshell then: TCW is not great, but it is okay.

Its all done by longest in post, even if you don't want to move sometimes thats just the way it works.

Are you a scribbly (just fishing after looking at your user name)? Because if you are, you should know better.

Post or employment has nothing to do with it, it's location. I've know loads of people turned over by this, especially the bods who came to TCW from 19 Sqn when that disbanded and then later when 81 SU closed as PMA saw them all at Brize. Despite totally different and unrelated jobs, PMA used this locational thing to fill posts they had no volunteers for, often the Outer Isles. How many times have lads been posted despite wishing to stay, and others who can't wait to get away being forced to finish the 4 year 'notational' tour on the Wing?

So much for the old chestnut of a posting in the interests of a rounded career. However, things may change with JPA, but I'm not holding my breath.............

I've been trying to get back to TCW since I left in 99, nearest I've been in Kinloss, although 2 tours in Cyprus have helped to mend my broken heart. Even asked when I came back with my tapes and was told by the drafter that there were no Cpl slots on the wing. Is this true ?????

That saying PMA TG4 drafter must ignore people who volunteer and just use the "dart board of fate" more than anyother Trade. About time they got rid of admin drafters and started to put trade relevent people on there.

I would guess that it probably is true as a lot of newly promoted Cpl's were opting to stay on the wing when they got their tapes... they probably have more Cpl's than they need but scared to loose the experience!

i'm sure someone will disagree though
